Looking for that perfect mid-concert snap? Not on selfie cop Miranda Lambert’s watch.

The famed country singer put her cowboy-boot-clad foot down this past weekend, briefly stopping her “Velvet Rodeo” residency at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas to scold two concert-goers for committing the cardinal sin of daring to take a selfie during a rendition of her song “Tin Man.”

“I’m gonna stop right here for a second, I’m sorry,” Lambert said moments after halting her 2017 hit. “These girls are worried about their selfie and not listening to the song. It’s pissing me off a little bit.”

Eliciting cheers and a handful of boos from the Sin City crowd, Lambert doubled down on her disdain for anyone doing anything other than fully paying attention to her amid her performance. “Sorry, I don’t like it — at all. We’re here to hear some country music tonight,” she snapped back. “I’m singing some country damn music.”

Though the song quickly resumed, sparking cheers from the audience, Adela Calin, one of the women on the receiving end of Lambert’s scolding, remained “appalled” at the singer’s pointed reaction. “It was 30 seconds at most,” Calin, an influencer (but of course), told NBC News of her now-viral moment. “We took the picture quickly and were going to sit back down.”

But Calin was far from alone in her disappointment with Lambert, as country music fans and concertgoers alike flocked to her defense on social media. “Nah this isn’t it... They paid money to be there, and if they wanna take selfies for a memory, what is the issue?” asked @blessedswift on a Miranda Lambert fanpage’s repost of the video. “She REALLY rubs me the wrong way.”

“this is why blake shelton got custody of me in the divorce,” joked @michaelaewalker referencing Lambert’s ex. “She a mean girl.”

“Why does this make me want to buy a front-row ticket to her show and take selfies the entire time,” trolled @stateoflo.

As Twitter continued to lambast Lambert for her overreaction, a handful of fans noted that this was far from the only time the “Drunk” artist had proven herself to be — as @bobfaget__ put it — “the Grinch of country music.”

Lambert previously brandished her fun-police badge during an Allentown, Pennsylvania stop on her 2019 Roadside Bars & Pink Guitars Tour, catching — and stabbing — a beach ball making its way through the audience.

“I love y’all, but we’re not at the damn beach,” she lectured, moments after shanking the pool toy. “We’re singing country music tonight.”

To paraphrase the key question in Lambert’s 2021 hit “Geraldine,” “Why you gotta be so mean?”
